What is Noma and how does it work?
Updated
Short answer
Noma measures how AI assistants describe and recommend your brand. It asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity the same set of category questions every day, records which brands each answer names, which URLs it cited and how the answer reads, and turns that into visibility, share of voice and sentiment you can track over time.
What Noma measures
- Visibility: how often answers to your tracked prompts name your brand.
- Share of voice: your share of all brand mentions in those same answers.
- Sentiment: how the answers that name you describe you.
- Sources: the URLs each engine cited to build its answer.
- Accuracy: when an engine states something untrue about you, the claim is kept with the exact prompt and model that produced it.
What happens each day
- Each tracked prompt is sent to every engine you have switched on, from a fresh session.
- The full answer is stored.
- The answer is parsed for your brand, your competitors, the cited URLs and the sentiment around your name.
- The dashboard updates, per engine and across all of them.
What you do with it
The numbers point at work. Gap analysis lists the prompts where competitors are named and you are not. Sources shows the pages that shape your category. Health audits the signals on your own site. Content drafts start from the gaps.
