How do I create an API key?

Short answer
Under Settings, API keys. The key is shown once when it is created and stored only as a hash, so it cannot be recovered later. Keys can be revoked at any time and stop working immediately.
Creating a key
- Open Settings, then API keys.
- Create a key.
- Copy it straight away and store it somewhere safe, such as a secrets manager.
If a key is lost or exposed
Revoke it and create a new one. A lost key cannot be shown again, and a revoked key stops working immediately.
