Behind every search for an AI visibility tool sits one plain question: when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity about your category, does the answer name you, and what would it take to get there? The tools built to answer it differ in which engines they watch, how often they look, and what they give you to act on.
This guide covers ten of them, with no ranking and no scores. Each entry says what the tool is, what its public pages state, and who it tends to suit. If the terms are new, start with what AEO is or the glossary.
A note on who wrote this: this list is written by Noma, which makes one of the tools on it. Every detail about another company comes from that company’s own public FAQ, pricing or help pages as we checked them in September 2026. Products in this category change quickly, so confirm current details with each vendor before you buy.
Start with your requirements, not the tool list
The right tool is the one that covers your buyers’ engines at your prompt volume and passes your security review. Settle those requirements first and the shortlist gets short quickly.
Engine coverage
Coverage varies more than any other feature. Some tools focus on chat assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Others add Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, DeepSeek or Grok. If your buyers mostly search on Google, AI Overviews coverage may matter more to you than one more chat assistant.
How data is collected and refreshed
Ask how each prompt is run, how often, and from what kind of session. Daily runs catch changes quickly. A monthly retest of a large prompt index shows broad trends but moves slowly. Some tools sample the same prompt many times to smooth out variation. Also check whether the full answer text is stored, because a score without the answer behind it is hard to act on.
Prompt limits and pricing model
Tools price by tracked prompts, engines, projects, workspaces or credits. A low entry price can come with a small prompt allowance, and extra engines or countries sometimes cost more. Work out how many prompts you need first, using a guide such as which prompts to track, then price every tool at that volume.
Sources and citations
Knowing that an engine named a competitor is useful. Knowing which pages it drew on is what lets you do something about it. Look for tools that list cited domains and URLs and separate your own pages from third-party coverage.
Integrations
Common options include Google Search Console, GA4, BI connectors, a REST API, CSV export and an MCP server for AI assistants. If your team already reports from a dashboard tool, check for a connector or API before you commit.
Security requirements
Larger companies often need a SOC 2 report, single sign-on and role-based access before procurement will approve a vendor. Several tools here state these on their public pages and some do not. If you need them, filter on them first.
Agency needs
Agencies need separate client workspaces, central billing and reports they can send under their own brand. Pricing per client varies widely, so compare tools at the number of clients you actually manage.
Dedicated AI visibility platforms
Eight of the ten tools are built mainly to track how AI answers describe brands. Noma is listed first because it is the tool we know best, not as a ranking.
Noma
Noma is our own tool. It tracks how five AI engines describe your brand, shows the sources behind each answer, and helps your team act on the gaps.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on self-serve plans. Grok is an add-on ($49 a month for access, then credits per answer) and is included on the free trial and Enterprise.
- Data: every tracked prompt is asked on each engine once a day from a fresh session with no personalization. Any prompt can be re-run on demand, and full answers are stored.
- Metrics: visibility (the share of answers naming you), share of voice, position in the answer, sentiment on a 0 to 100 scale (scored only on answers naming the brand) and cited sources.
- Acting on gaps: gap analysis on Growth and above, showing prompts where competitors are named and you are not, plus Earned and Owned views, an Actions page and content drafts your team edits and publishes. Nothing is published automatically.
- Site and crawlers: a 12-point site audit, and Agent Analytics from server logs showing which AI crawlers read which pages, visits arriving from AI assistants, and pages crawled but never cited.
- Integrations: Google Search Console, an MCP server for Claude, CSV export, an API on Scale, Studio, Agency and Enterprise, and white-label reports on Studio, Agency and Enterprise.
- Pricing: Starter $79 a month ($65 on the annual rate), Growth $299 ($249), Scale $799 ($665), Studio for agencies $499 ($415, 10 client workspaces) and Agency $1,199 ($999, 25 client workspaces), with custom Enterprise. The annual rate gives 2 months free and is still billed monthly. Current prices are on the pricing page.
- Trying it: a 3-day free trial with 25 prompts on all five engines (a card is taken), a free brand audit with no account, and a managed service where strategists run Noma for you.
- Where others cover more: Noma does not track Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI or ChatGPT Shopping. It does not track conversions, sign-ups or revenue, and it has no SSO and no SOC 2 report.
Who it suits: brands and agencies focused on the major chat assistants who want daily data, the sources behind each answer, and a clear route from a gap to a fix.
Profound
Profound runs daily structured prompts across AI platforms and analyzes how brands show up in the answers.
- Prompts: start from industry recommendations and can be edited, disabled or added.
- Metrics: appearance, citations, sentiment, ranking and competitive presence, with opt-in anonymized benchmarking.
- Plans: Lite and Enterprise. Enterprise is suggested for teams of three or more that need more prompts, agents and dedicated support.
- Agents: Profound Agents are priced in credits, with Starter at 100 a month, Growth at 400 a month, and higher enterprise tiers.
- Setup: described as immediate.
- Engines: which AI platforms it covers is not stated on its public pages.
Who it suits: teams that want daily tracking from a recommended starting prompt set, and growing teams that expect to need an enterprise plan with dedicated support and AI agents. Ask about engine coverage directly.
Peec AI
Peec AI runs each prompt daily on every tracked model and separates brand visibility from source visibility.
- Data: each prompt runs once every 24 hours on every tracked model.
- Metrics: brand visibility (direct mentions) and source visibility (content that informs answers), filterable by AI model, country and prompt tags.
- Citations: domains and URLs tracked with citation frequency.
- Integrations: a Looker Studio connector, a REST API and an MCP server.
- Pricing: based on tracked prompts and models, with per-prompt discounts on higher tiers, no extra cost for multiple countries or languages, and a 15% yearly discount.
- Agencies: sub-brand tracking and agency bundles with central billing.
Who it suits: teams tracking several countries or languages, analysts who want data in Looker Studio or their own systems, and agencies that want central billing.
AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ combines some of the widest engine coverage in this list with analytics and commerce integrations.
- Engines: all plans monitor ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Paid plans add Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.
- Integrations: GA4, Google Search Console and Shopify, plus Webflow, Framer, and Tableau, Power BI and Looker on enterprise.
- Security: states SOC II Type 2, GDPR, NIST CSF 2.0 Tier 3, SSO and RBAC.
- Markets: tracks 60+ countries and languages.
- Also: Ask Athena, an AI copilot over your data, and ChatGPT Shopping optimization.
Who it suits: companies that need Google’s AI surfaces and Copilot alongside chat assistants, strict security reviews, Shopify stores and multi-country programs. On engines and certifications it covers more than Noma.
Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI, acquired by Sitecore, pairs AI visibility tracking with a way to serve AI-optimized pages to crawlers.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Meta AI and Copilot, with Grok listed as coming.
- Pricing: Core at $250 a month and custom Enterprise for brands; Agency Core at $500 a month.
- Trial: 7-day self-serve trial with 100 prompts and three page audits.
- Security: SOC 2 Type II and SSO (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, with SAML 2.0/OIDC on Enterprise).
- Data access: CSV export and APIs with 90-day history, plus sentiment and placement in answers.
- Also: the Agent Experience Platform (AXP) serves AI-optimized versions of pages to AI crawlers, and an agency partner program offers up to 20% referral commission.
Who it suits: brands that need broad engine coverage with SOC 2 and SSO, teams interested in serving crawler-specific versions of their pages, and agencies that want a partner program.
Otterly.ai
Otterly.ai is a monitoring tool with a low entry price and coverage of both Google and chat assistants.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude.
- Pricing: plans from $29 a month, with monthly and annual subscriptions.
- Trial: 7 days, no credit card.
- Features: a public API, a GEO audit, and agent analytics via log file upload.
- Security: its help center covers its ISO 27001/SOC 2 status and GDPR.
Who it suits: small teams and consultants on a tight budget who want AI Overviews and Copilot alongside chat assistants, and who want to try before entering a card.
Goodie AI
Goodie AI measures brand citations across AI engines daily, with plans from self-serve to enterprise.
- Plans: Core is self-serve; Pro and Enterprise need a sales conversation.
- Enterprise: up to 12 engines, with SSO/SAML and SOC 2.
- Agencies: client workspaces, plus time-limited pitch workspaces that convert to client workspaces from $399 a month.
Who it suits: agencies that want to show prospects real data before signing them, and enterprises that need many engines with SSO and SOC 2.
Evertune
Evertune takes a sampling approach, asking each prompt many times to measure how AI systems describe brands.
- Sampling: each prompt 100 times per model across 11+ AI systems, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Meta AI, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity and DeepSeek.
- Prompts: drawn from a panel of real user conversations.
- Refresh: reports refresh every 30 days by default.
- Also: a site audit, bot analytics, and tools for ChatGPT advertising and content.
Who it suits: brands that want a broad, heavily sampled picture across many AI systems more than day-to-day movement, and teams exploring ChatGPT advertising.
AI visibility inside SEO suites
Semrush and Ahrefs have added AI visibility reporting to platforms many SEO teams already use, which keeps it next to their search data.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
The AI Visibility Toolkit from Semrush reports how often AI answers mention your brand compared with competitors.
- Trial: there is no free trial.
- Markets: covers 40+ countries.
- Refresh: most reports update daily, while Brand Performance updates weekly.
- Metrics: the AI Visibility Score compares your mentions with the median of top competitors.
- Exports: CSV exports are capped at 1,000 rows.
- Engines: which AI engines it covers is not stated on its public pages.
Who it suits: SEO teams that want AI visibility reporting beside their existing search data, especially across many countries.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar pairs a ready-made, market-wide view of AI visibility with tracking of your own questions.
- Market view: an AI Visibility Index that needs no setup, built from a very large prompt index and retested monthly across six platforms.
- Your prompts: Custom Prompts track your own buyer questions going forward.
- Demand: prompts are tied to search demand.
Who it suits: SEO teams that want an instant market-level view with no setup, and teams that prioritize prompts by search demand.
No single tool leads on every requirement
Each tool is strongest for a particular kind of team. Match your hardest requirement to the tools that state it.
- You need Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot: AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, Otterly.ai and Evertune list them. Noma does not.
- Procurement requires SOC 2 and SSO: AthenaHQ and Scrunch AI state both, and Goodie AI lists both on Enterprise. Noma has neither.
- You want daily data with a path to fixes: Noma, Profound and Peec AI all describe daily runs, and Noma adds gap analysis, content drafts and a site audit.
- You already work in an SEO suite: Semrush and Ahrefs keep AI visibility next to your search data.
- You run an agency: compare Noma Studio and Agency, Peec AI agency bundles, Scrunch AI Agency Core and Goodie AI pitch workspaces.
- You want to start small: Otterly.ai starts from $29 a month and Noma Starter is $79 a month, or $65 on the annual rate.
How to choose an AI visibility tool
- List the engines your buyers use and cross off tools that do not cover them.
- Check hard requirements such as SOC 2, SSO or agency workspaces, and remove tools that do not state them.
- Decide how fresh the data needs to be: daily runs, sampled reports every 30 days, or a monthly retested index.
- Build your prompt set, then price each remaining tool at that volume.
- Run the same prompts through two or three shortlisted tools and compare the results with what you see when you ask the engines yourself.
The best test of any tool is whether it helps you decide what to change. To see where you stand before comparing anything, run a free brand audit, read the AEO guide, or learn how AI share of voice is measured. Answers to common questions about Noma are in the FAQ.
