Profound Alternatives (2026): 9 Options Compared

9 Profound alternatives compared on entry price, AI engines, prompts, free trials and SSO, from each vendor's own pricing page as checked in October 2026.

Noma by Nurdd9 min read

The main Profound alternatives are Peec AI and Promptwatch for small teams that want a published monthly price, Scrunch for Copilot and Perplexity on its first plan, AthenaHQ for a free plan and 11 models on Starter, Semrush and Ahrefs for teams already using those suites, and Noma by Nurdd for Claude and Perplexity on every paid plan.

A note on who wrote this: this page is written by Noma, which makes one of the tools compared. Every detail about the other products comes from that company’s own public pricing, product or help pages as we checked them in October 2026. Where a page does not give a figure, we say so rather than guess. Products in this category change quickly, so confirm current details with each vendor before you buy.

What Profound does

Profound is an AI visibility platform: it runs prompts on AI answer engines every day and reports how a brand appears in the answers. Its pricing page lists two options for brands, plus a separate tab for agencies:

  • Trial (free): 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, limited AI Marketer credits and unlimited seats. It has no history, exports or API, and no SSO.
  • Enterprise (custom): a tailored prompt tracking plan, “up to 9 answer engines tracked”, SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance, and dedicated support.

Why teams look elsewhere

We have not surveyed Profound customers, so this section sticks to what the pricing page itself shows. Three points come up when teams compare it with other tools:

  • No published paid price. After the trial, the only brand plan is Enterprise with custom pricing. Teams that want to compare costs before a sales call, or that need a monthly budget line under a few hundred dollars, often look for tools that publish their prices.
  • A short, narrow trial. The trial lasts 7 days and covers three engines. It has no history or exports, so the data cannot be kept or shared once it ends.
  • Engine coverage is not named in full. Enterprise lists “up to 9” answer engines without naming them on the pricing page. Teams that need a specific engine, such as Claude, Perplexity or Microsoft Copilot, have to ask.

None of this is a reason to rule Profound out. For an enterprise that needs SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance in a contract, Enterprise lists both.

Profound alternatives compared

Entry price is the cheapest paid plan for brands, billed monthly in US dollars unless noted. “Not published” means the vendor’s page we checked did not state the figure.

Noma does not track Microsoft Copilot or Meta AI.

Pricing comparison

Most of these tools price by the number of prompts they run each day, and some also by the number of engines or projects. These are the published monthly prices for brands.

  • Profound: free trial, then Enterprise at a custom price. See Profound’s pricing page.
  • Noma by Nurdd: Starter $79, Growth $299, Scale $799, Studio $499, Agency $1,199; Enterprise is custom. Details are on the pricing page.
  • Peec AI: Starter $95 (50 prompts), Pro $245 (150 prompts), Advanced $495 (350 prompts), Enterprise custom and annual. An extra model costs $30, $70 or $140 a month on Starter, Pro or Advanced, billed annually. Agency pricing is on a separate page.
  • Scrunch: Core $250 (125 prompts, 5 user licences), Enterprise custom.
  • Promptwatch: Essential $95 (50 prompts), Professional $245 (150 prompts), Business $579 (350 prompts), Enterprise custom.
  • AthenaHQ: Essential free (300 credits), Starter $295 (3,600 credits a month, 17% off on annual billing), Enterprise custom. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons.
  • Goodie: Core $295 (110 prompts), Pro $999 (250 prompts), Enterprise price not published.
  • Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: $99 a month, plus $99 for each extra user licence.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar: custom prompts from €47 a month, AI Visibility Index from €179 a month (prices shown in euros when we checked).
  • Otterly.ai: prices not verified; see Otterly.ai’s pricing page.

A price per month says little on its own. Compare the cost at the number of prompts, engines and projects you actually need, and check whether the engines you care about are included or charged as add-ons.

How to choose

  • List the engines your buyers use. If Microsoft Copilot matters, Scrunch, Peec AI, Promptwatch, AthenaHQ, Ahrefs Brand Radar and Otterly.ai name it. If Claude and Perplexity matter on a small budget, check which plan includes them, not only whether the tool supports them.
  • Count your prompts and projects. Entry plans in the table run from 15 to 125 prompts, apart from AthenaHQ, which meters credits instead. Agencies and teams with several brands should price the plan that holds all of them.
  • Check security needs early. If procurement requires SSO or a SOC 2 report, start with Enterprise plans that list them. Noma by Nurdd has neither.
  • Decide whether you need data out. API access sits on the entry plan at Promptwatch, on Enterprise at Peec AI and Scrunch, and is a paid add-on at AthenaHQ. At Noma it starts on the Scale plan.
  • Run the same prompts in two tools. Use the free trials to track the same buyer questions and compare the results with what you see when you ask the engines directly.
