Does ChatGPT recommend your brand?

Free AI visibility check across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. See if you are named, in what position, and who is named instead.

Competitors (optional, up to 3)

How the check works

You tell us your website, your brand name, the category you sell in and the market you sell to. We write six questions: five that a buyer in that market would ask an AI assistant without knowing your name, and one that asks about your brand directly. The questions are built from fixed templates, so running the check again later asks the same questions and the results can be compared.

The free result asks ChatGPT. Leave your email and the same six questions go to Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, and you get a combined score, a ranking of the brands the engines named, the sources they cited and three fixes.

What mentioned and position mean

Mentioned means your brand name, another name you gave us, or your domain appears in the answer. Common words are handled with care: if your brand is called something like Linear, the word on its own is not counted until the answer is clearly about your company. Position is where your brand sits among all the brands the answer names, in reading order, so position 1 means you were named first.

The score

The score is the Visibility Index Noma uses in its paid product, worked out over the five buyer questions. It weighs how often you were named, how often your own site was cited, how high you appeared and how the answer spoke about you. The brand question is left out of the score because it names you in the question.

Limits worth knowing

This is one snapshot. Engines vary from run to run, and the answers here are what each engine said at the moment we asked. We ask the engines through the same gateway Noma's product uses, without a location setting, so the market shows up in the wording of the questions. Google AI Mode is not included yet.

Common questions

How do you check if ChatGPT recommends my brand?
We ask ChatGPT five questions a buyer in your category would ask, such as which options are best or what the alternatives to a competitor are, plus one question about your brand by name. Then we read each answer to see whether your brand was named, in what position among the brands listed, and who was named instead. The five buyer questions never mention your brand.
Why do different AI engines give different answers?
Each engine is a different model, trained on different data, and some lean more on the web pages they find at the moment of asking. The same question can produce a different shortlist on each one, which is why the full check asks the same six questions on every engine.
Why does my brand show up in Google but not in ChatGPT?
Ranking a page for a search term and being recommended in an answer are different things. An AI answer names brands it has learned about or found described on other sites, so being mentioned on the pages engines read can matter as much as your own page ranking.
How can I get recommended by AI engines?
Start with the fixes in your report. They come from your own results: the sites the engines cited, the questions where you were missing, and how engines described you when asked directly. Clear facts on your own site and accurate listings on the sites engines cite are the usual starting points.
Do AI answers change over time?
Yes. The same question can get a different answer from one day to the next, so a single check is a snapshot, not a verdict. Noma asks the same questions every day so you can see the trend rather than one sample.
Is my data private?
We store the brand, category and market you enter, the questions and the engines' answers, so we can show your result and reuse it if the same check is run again within seven days. We do not store your IP address, only a salted hash of it. Your email is used to send the report and is only used for anything else if you tick the box.
What is Google AI Mode?
Google AI Mode is a conversational search mode in Google Search that answers with a written response and links. This free check does not include it yet; it covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity.
