Nurdd alternatives most often means alternatives to Noma by Nurdd, an answer engine optimisation (AEO) and AI visibility platform that tracks how 13 AI engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, name a brand. Nurdd is the company that builds it. Decide which name you meant, then build a shortlist.

## Key takeaways

- Three similar names cause confusion: Nurdd (the company behind Noma), Noma by Nurdd (an AI visibility platform) and Noma Security (an unrelated AI security company).
- If you want AI visibility tracking, score every platform on five tests: engines, prompts, method, sources and price with a trial.
- Run a free check before you pay for anything: the [Noma free brand audit](https://nomahq.app/brand-audit) shows how AI engines describe your brand today.
- Load the same 20 to 25 buyer prompts into every trial, and call a difference real only when it exceeds the margin of error.
- Engines disagree with each other, so insist on per-engine results, not one blended score.

## What is Nurdd, and what is Noma by Nurdd?

Nurdd is the company that builds Noma. Noma by Nurdd, also written NomaHQ or Noma, is an AEO platform at [nomahq.app](https://nomahq.app), launched in May 2026. It asks 13 AI engines the questions a brand's buyers ask, every day, and shows where the brand is named, where competitors are named instead and which pages the answers draw on. The company website is nurdd.club. This post only describes the Noma product and does not review any other product that may carry a similar name.

For a longer explainer, see [What Is NomaHQ? Noma by Nurdd, Explained](https://nomahq.app/blog/what-is-nomahq). For definitions, see the [glossary](https://nomahq.app/glossary).

### Noma by Nurdd is not Noma Security

Noma Security is an AI security company. Its own [PR Newswire announcement (as checked November 2026)](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/noma-security-launches-industrys-first-comprehensive-ai-agent-security-solution-302522605.html) covers an AI agent security solution, and its [LinkedIn page](https://www.linkedin.com/company/noma-security/) calls it an agentic AI security platform for enterprises. Noma by Nurdd is not affiliated with it. Noma by Nurdd is an AI visibility platform that measures how AI answers describe brands.

## Which one are you looking for?

Use this table to route yourself in under a minute.

| You want to... | The name you are after | What it is | Is Noma the answer? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| See whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Claude name your brand | Noma by Nurdd | An AI visibility platform tracking visibility, position, sentiment and cited sources across 13 AI engines | Yes. |
| Learn who builds Noma | Nurdd | The company behind Noma by Nurdd (see the [About page](https://nomahq.app/about)) | Noma is its product. |
| Secure AI agents and models inside a company | Noma Security | Agentic AI security for enterprises | No. Different company, different job. |

### A thirty-second test to confirm your intent

Finish this sentence: "I want to know whether ___." If the blank is "ChatGPT recommends my brand when buyers ask", you want AI visibility tracking. If it is "our AI agents leak data", you want AI security. Only the first points to Noma by Nurdd.

Two quick checks stop you buying the wrong thing. First, open the product's own homepage and read the first sentence, not the search snippet. Second, look for the verb: "track mentions" and "secure agents" are two different markets that share a prefix.

## Why are people comparing AI visibility platforms now?

Buyers ask assistants for shortlists, and brands want to know whether they are on them. Being absent is common, and it is measurable. In Noma's own count of 2,545 ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude answers, [AI engines named Nurdd in 4 of 2,166 category answers (0.2%), Noma by Nurdd, 2026](https://nomahq.app/blog/what-2545-ai-answers-about-our-brand-show). That is one brand in one category, so treat it as an illustration of the method, not an industry average.

Engines also disagree with each other. Bluefish Intelligence research, reported by [PPC Land, October 2026](https://ppc.land/chatgpt-and-google-differ-on-top-brand-in-35-of-buying-topics-bluefish-says/), found that across 5,810 buying topics and 3 categories, different brands lead AI-generated answers on Google and ChatGPT in 35% of cases. A tool that blends engines into one score hides that gap. More in [do AI engines name the same top brand](https://nomahq.app/blog/ai-engines-disagree-on-top-brand).

> Bluefish's announcement states that different brands lead AI-generated answers on Google and ChatGPT "in 35% of cases" (as quoted by PPC Land, October 2026).

## What does an AI visibility platform actually measure?

Before comparing alternatives, agree on terms. Four measures cover most of what a marketing lead needs.

- **Mention rate:** the share of answers that name your brand. Numerator: answers naming you. Denominator: all answers run.
- **Share of voice:** your mentions as a share of all brand mentions in the same answers, including competitors. See [what AI share of voice is and how it is calculated](https://nomahq.app/blog/what-is-ai-share-of-voice).
- **Citation share:** how often your pages appear as a listed source, a separate outcome from being named. See [citation vs brand mention](https://nomahq.app/blog/citation-vs-brand-mention).
- **Description accuracy and sentiment:** whether the words next to your name are right. See [brand sentiment in AI answers](https://nomahq.app/blog/what-is-brand-sentiment-in-ai-answers).

A platform that reports only one blended score cannot tell you which of these moved. Ask to see all four split by engine.

## How do I choose an AI visibility platform? A five-test checklist

Most comparison pages list features. A better approach is to run the same tests on every tool in a week.

1. **Engines.** List the engines your buyers use and check each is covered on the plan you would buy. Noma by Nurdd tracks 13 AI engines; it does not track Microsoft Copilot or Meta AI.
2. **Prompts.** Ask how many tracked prompts each plan allows and whether you write them or the vendor does. Fewer than 20 buyer questions rarely covers a category.
3. **Method.** Ask how often each prompt is run, from what kind of session, and whether the vendor states a margin of error. AI answers vary between runs, which is why [AI citation stability](https://nomahq.app/blog/ai-citation-stability) matters before you call any change real.
4. **Sources.** A mention rate alone tells you nothing to fix. You need the cited pages behind each answer, split into your own pages and other people's.
5. **Price and trial.** Read the vendor's pricing page, not a third-party roundup, and note the date. Confirm whether a card is taken at trial signup.

### A scorecard you can copy

Give each tool a score from 0 to 2 on each test, then weight by what matters to you. The weights below are a starting point, not a standard.

| Test | 0 points | 1 point | 2 points | Suggested weight |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Engines | Misses engines your buyers use | Covers them, some at extra cost | Covers them on the plan you will buy | 25% |
| Prompts | Vendor chooses, you cannot edit | You edit, limit below your set | You edit, limit fits 20 to 25 or more | 20% |
| Method | Single run, no variance shown | Repeat runs, no margin stated | Repeat runs, fresh sessions, margin stated | 25% |
| Sources | Mentions only | Cited URLs listed | Cited URLs split by owned and earned | 20% |
| Price and trial | Price not on the vendor page | Price shown, trial needs a call | Price shown, self-serve trial | 10% |

Multiply each score by its weight, sum, and compare. A tool that scores 0 on method is a poor basis for decisions however well it scores elsewhere, because every other number depends on it. Score vendors from their own public pages and trial, not from this post.

## What are the alternatives for AI visibility tracking?

If you have decided you need AI visibility tracking, the category includes dedicated trackers and add-ons to SEO suites. Noma publishes side-by-side pages. Each carries its own check date and vendor links, and this post does not repeat their competitor figures:

- [Profound alternatives](https://nomahq.app/compare/profound-alternatives): nine options compared on price, engines, prompt limits and free trials.
- [Peec AI alternatives](https://nomahq.app/compare/peec-ai-alternatives): the same comparison, starting from Peec AI.
- [Noma vs Profound vs Peec AI](https://nomahq.app/blog/noma-vs-profound-vs-peec): engines, data, integrations, pricing, trials, security and agencies.
- [Best AI visibility tools in 2026](https://nomahq.app/blog/best-ai-visibility-aeo-tools-2026): 12 tools on engines tracked, entry price and fit.
- [All-in-one SEO suite or separate tracker](https://nomahq.app/blog/best-geo-tools-all-in-one-vs-separate): for teams already paying for Semrush or Ahrefs.

## Where does Noma by Nurdd fit?

Noma by Nurdd asks 13 AI engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, your buyers' questions every day. Grok, GPT-5, Claude Sonnet, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral Small, Mistral Medium, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews are add-ons, so price the engines you need before you compare totals.

## How do I test a shortlist in one week?

A short, repeatable test beats a long demo.

1. **Day 1: free baseline.** Run the [free brand audit](https://nomahq.app/brand-audit). It checks how AI engines describe your brand, so you know what the tools should confirm.
2. **Day 1: write 20 to 25 prompts.** Use unbranded buyer questions, such as the best tool for a job, plus a few comparisons. The [free AI Prompt Finder](https://nomahq.app/tools/ai-prompt-finder) finds buyer questions tagged by intent. Guidance on the set is in [which prompts to track](https://nomahq.app/blog/which-prompts-to-track).
3. **Days 2 to 3: load the same set into each trial.** Do not let any tool choose different prompts, or the results cannot be compared.
4. **Day 4: compare.** Record mention rate, the competitors named and the top cited domains for each tool. Note where tools disagree and why.
5. **Day 5: check what you can act on.** Pick one gap and see whether the tool shows the cited pages and the topics where rivals appear and you do not.

Use the [free Competitor AI Share of Voice tool](https://nomahq.app/tools/ai-share-of-voice) as a cross-check: it compares how often engines name you against up to three competitors and which sources they cite.

### Worked example: when is a difference real?

This is an illustration of the arithmetic, not data from any brand. Suppose you track 25 prompts and run each 3 times on one engine, giving 75 answers. Your brand is named in 15 of them, a mention rate of 20%.

The standard error of a proportion is the square root of p times (1 minus p) divided by n. Here that is the square root of 0.2 x 0.8 / 75, about 0.046. A rough 95% range is plus or minus 1.96 times that, about 9 percentage points, so the true rate sits somewhere near 11% to 29%.

The consequence is practical. If a second tool reports 26% on the same prompts, or your own rate moves from 20% to 24% next week, neither is a finding. Wait for a gap larger than about 9 points on this sample size, or add runs. Doubling the runs to 150 answers narrows the range to roughly plus or minus 6 points. Any vendor that shows a trend line without a stated sample size is asking you to read noise.

## What should I ask in a demo?

Bring these questions to any vendor you shortlist. The answers separate a measurement tool from a dashboard.

- How many times is each prompt run, and from what kind of session?
- Can I see the raw answer text behind each number?
- Are cited URLs listed, and can I filter to my own domain versus others?
- Which engines are in my plan today, and which cost extra?
- What happens to my prompt set and history if I cancel? Can I export it?
- Is there an API or integration for the reports my team already uses?

Get each answer in writing or on a public page, and note the date.

## What mistakes cause people to pick the wrong tool?

- **Searching a name, not a job.** Nurdd, Noma and Noma Security all surface for loose queries. Decide the job first.
- **Comparing on engine count alone.** A longer list is useless if the engines your buyers use cost extra and you have not priced them.
- **Trusting one run.** Single answers vary. Ask for repeat runs and a stated sample size.
- **Skipping the source view.** Without cited pages you cannot act.
- **Using a third-party price list.** Prices move. Read the vendor page and record the date.
- **Changing the prompt set mid-test.** Every edit resets your comparison. Freeze the set for the trial period.
- **Tracking only branded prompts.** Asking what Brand X is tells you little about whether buyers who do not know you get pointed to you.

## How we researched this

We reviewed Noma Security's own announcement and profile, a report on Bluefish research, and Noma's published pages and blog posts. Facts and prices for Noma were checked on 2026-11-05. This post carries no competitor prices: the comparison pages linked above show their own check dates and vendor links. We did not interview anyone, and we report no customer results for Noma. The margin-of-error example is arithmetic on invented numbers, labelled as such.
